Fetsi path finder
Creating Pathways to Employment, Entrepreneurship and transforming Rural Communities in the Digital Economy
About the project
The FETSI path finder responds to the growing digital divide intensified by rapid digital transformation and the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly between urban and rural areas. The initiative focuses on rural communities by promoting the acquisition of digital and transversal skills that empower individuals to face future educational, professional and societal challenges.
Through participatory self-analysis workshops, local needs and motivations for change are identified and used to co-create high-quality, context-based educational materials. These are complemented by targeted training for teachers and trainers, ensuring their capacity to effectively implement innovative digital learning activities and support long-term, inclusive digital transformation at community level.
The training outline
Our Digital Village is a 30-hour modular training programme developed under the Our Digital Village + project, aimed at strengthening digital and transversal skills by equipping educators with the tools to deliver innovative digital education in formal and non-formal settings, especially in rural areas.
The training helps teachers and trainers understand the importance of digital and transversal competencies and provides hands-on experience with key technologies such as robotics, coding, microcontrollers, 3D modelling & printing, and web development. The programme also covers pedagogical approaches, practical task design, assessment strategies, and integration of extra digital resources.
Modules include:
The training supports the Our Digital Village Activity Kit, a set of structured ICT challenges designed to make digital education engaging and accessible. By focusing on both educators and learners, the training contributes to closing digital skill gaps, fostering creativity and critical thinking, and enabling inclusive digital transformation in rural contexts.
